I turned 27 a few days back. Yep, I am officially getting closer to 30. Which then means I am closer to 40 and then… Oh dear, I think I am about to hit a mid mid-life crisis. Yep, 27 is some weird purgatory age for me. I am officially too old to be partying, but too young to be settling down (not that I am any time soon – I am eternally a single pringle). So, what does a girl do when she is having a crisis and has to celebrate her birthday? Venture to Duck and Dry of course and get herself her very own Birthday crown, der!
Yep, for my Birthday dinner I decided it was about time I showed the world what kind of gangsta Princess I am – and got myself a halo crown via the lovely peeps at Duck & Dry on the King’s Road. After having my locks splendiferously washed, treated and head massaged (literally, orgasmic -I would happily have my head massaged all day), I sat down in a rather comfortable chair and had my locks briskly dried using the Duck and Dry Blow Dry in a bottle spray. After this, the braiding process started – my brazen braid was about to commence.
In order for my braid to hold, the braid-whizz parted my hair on the side and then ensured my head was aptly tilted to the side (and chair lowered) so the braid could be held tight and remain straight (a girl’s crown can never be off centre). She whizzed right around my head and finished the look in less than 10 minutes (rather impressive if you ask me). The finished product was a fat, girly braided halo that I knew I could totally rock.
Would I venture back to Duck & Dry?! Hells yes – without a doubt! I am always in need of a good mane for a date or girly night out – I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the prepaid bundle just to ensure I could have the best hair do all year round. Plus, the staff are lovely, their hair expertise is something else and I always end up leaving feel so content and happy. It sure did add an extra big smile to my face that evening at dinner.
Do you go to blow dry bars? What is your favourite?
