HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

breast-cancer-support
Every day in Australia, around 48 woman are diagnosed with a gynaecological or breast cancer (NBCF). That is, 1 in 8 Australian Women. When you compare this statistic to how many women you know, it really does send shivers down your spine.

This year, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is pushing to ensure there are no more deaths from Breast Cancer by the year 2030: something we are all praying for. Through research and governance, we will be able to achieve this: but your help is needed. Research can’t occur without funding, so my lovelies, let’s do as Ghandi suggests and ‘be the change you wish to see in the world‘ and eradicate death from Breast Cancer. But how you ask? By spending and donating, of course!
There is nothing better then purchasing a great product that gives back. Now, I don’t have a degree in medical science, but I do have an income and an overly friendly credit card, so to know that I can help change the world (in a tiny way) through my spending, I know that I am helping to put this change in motion. This October, why not purchase for a cause with goodies that donate to the National Breast Cancer Institute. Look good, feel good, give good!

Here are two ways you can help donate to Breast Cancer awareness and research…

BY THROWING A GIRL’S NIGHT

I recently threw a ‘Girl’s Night In’ with my beautiful Mum and sisters (and even 2 week old Tilly joined us) at my sister’s house. We watched the seriously hilarious comedy,  The Other Woman (newly released on Digital-HD and DVD), and enjoyed facials, ate chocolate and Thai food, and indulged in a little champagne and laughter- it was bliss!

The Other Woman is one hell of a female comedy about love, lust, karma and girl power (and we all love girl power). It is was my type of movie – full of belly laughs, great one liners and a rather handsome piece of eye-candy (whoever that guy is – I volunteer as tribute)! And to top it off, 20th Century Fox – the peeps who brought us The Other Woman (and so many more brilliant movies) – has brought out the girl power by partnering with the Cancer Council Australia ‘Girls Night In’ to help raise necessary funds for a very worthy cause. Instead of going out – spend a night in with friends, and the money that you would have spent on everything, throw towards charity (just like we did).

You can find more information on their partnership, here. Or to host a ‘Girls Night In’ like I did, visit here.

PURCHASE A CHARITY BEAUTY PRODUCT

What is great about Breast Cancer Awareness month is that a heap of brands get involved, by allowing some of their popular products sold throughout the month to donate to the worthy cause. My top picks are:

Aveda Limited-Edition Hand Relief Moisturising Creme with Shampure Aroma

Legit, one of the most divine hand creams I have ever got my mittens across. This beauty is not only moisturising and soothes dry and chapped hands, but also donates $US4 for each one sold over the month of October.

Milk Skincare Women Range

Throughout October, Milk skincare will donate $1 from every sale to the McGrath Foundation from purchases on their womens range. If you haven’t already tried out any of the range, you definitely should. Not only is it super well-priced, but the products are actually really great.

I would recommend the Indulge Me Pack and the Body Scrub.

Goldwell Pink Super Hold Lacquer and Pink Elixir

$1 from every specially marked 500g Goldwell Pink Super Hold Lacquer and 100ml Goldwell Pink Elixir sold during October will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.

Why should you pick up these beauty with a cause goodies? Well, Goldwell are reknowned for producing quality and reliable haircare, and these beauties are no different. I picked up the elixir a few months back at the hair salon, and have been hooked ever since. It is literally liquid gold for dry ends, and also protects your locks from heat styling.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +

If you are after a new moisturiser that is epic for almost all skin types – look no further than the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +. This limited edition bottles is nearly twice the size of the regular bottle, and is adorned with a cute-as-a-button Clinique Key ring. And $10 from every sale will be donated to charity – and your skin will be thanking you.

There are so many other things you can purchase to help donate to the cause – these are just a snippet of some of ht egret products that are fabulous for you, and for charity!
