My everyday perfume favourites

Call me strange, but I have a voracious obsession for well-perfumed men. If a man was to walk past me wearing Chanel Allure Homme or Tommy Hilfiger T for Men, I cannot guarantee I won’t be arrested for assault. Sexy Men’s scents release a floodgate of Serotonin in my system and it could definitely be classed as dangerous (men of Sydney: you have been warned)! You can sometimes even find me snuggling up to my Gay Best-Friend, using all my will-powering not to jump him and his alluring Tiffany & Co Cologne.

On the other hand, if a scent is worn wrong: think an over-zealous-trigger-happy-high-schooler spray of Lynx deodorant: I go running in the other direction. Sometimes literally in tears or dry-reaching from the stench. It doesn’t matter how distinguished or Abercrombie & Fitch Modelesque a guy is: an over-powering scent is a big ‘no! no!’!

So, it is the same with Women and their choice of Perfume. Our personal scents reveal so much about us (probably lost a lot of cred when I admitted I was a a fan of One Direction’s perfume: actually, I lost that when I said I was a fan of One Direction – full stop), and if worn correctly, can resonate with your Family, Friends and case-in-point (me) strangers. My personal scent is something that I feel I have down to a tee (yes, I am that self-centred), so I thought I would share with you, my Top 3 personal favourite scents that never fail to get me compliments, and why they hold such importance in my scent library.

All these scents are actually available at the Perfume Clearance Centre?

Lolita Lempicka Eau De Parfum Spray

Growing up in my teens, my Aunty would always wear Lolita Lempicka Eau De Parfum to Family gatherings. So, when I got my first job out of High School, this was one of my first purchases. With every spray, I feel more empowered and  feel I emulate her class and sophistication.
It has an intensely feminine smell, that is subtle and pure. It contains Vanilla, Violet and Licorice Flower, and is definitely a compliment gainer!

Miss Dior Cherie by Christian Dior Eau De Parfum Spray

When my Mum first bought herself a bottle of Miss Dior Cherie by Christian Dior, I would casually wander in to her Bathroom and try and steal a spray (or five). Alas, my abilities at being inconspicuous severely lacked, and the scent of said sprayed perfume would mingle in the air: and thus, gave away my secret spray-athon! After many failed attempts at getting me to stop “stealing” her perfume, she kindly picked me up a bottle form Hong-Kong, and well, the rest is scent-history.

This iconic fragrance is truly up-lifting and subtly impactful. I wear this on special occasions that require making an not-so-over-the-top statement, such as: parties, Beauty events and first dates. It is crisp, ethereal and elegant, and illusively fruity. It contains notes of Strawberry Leaves, Egyptian Jasmine, Italian Mandarin and is blended with Patchouli and Musk (amongst others).

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Twist and Spray Eau De Toilette

Perfumes, in general, are not Lucy proof. If you met me, I would probably rate in your Top 5 of the most clumsy people you knew. The sheer slew of times a Perfume bottle has slipped through my chubby fingers is depressingly vast and insurmountable. But, I am not going to lie, when this does happen, my bathroom tends to have a concentrated aroma for the next week or two #GlassHalfFull! So, when I stumbled across this hellacious re-fillable and ‘Lucy proof’ Chanel perfume, I was sold!

Chanel does sophistication in spades: and Coco Mademoiselle is no exception. An strikingly provoking, yet clean scent, that is a perfect everyday perfume. What rocks even more is that it will embed (positively) in the minds of anyone you happen to walk past. It is perfect for all ages (my Mum also wears this) and is not overbearing.

With notes of Jasmine and Rose, this understated scent is always a talking point and has bought me a great cost to compliments ratio.
