dietlicious review

I like to indulge in glutinous foods and drown my sorrows in Diet Coke: erhmegerd, having no spare time is hard! No, I am not a Mum – I just work really hard and long hours. Thus, preparing my meals is really difficult for me and I end up snacking on junk or grabbing the “quick” option. It is safe to say that 2014 hasn’t been a glowing year of health.

I am not usually a cleanser. In fact, the two words are a tad bit polarising. I don’t tend to engage in “cleansing” activity because, well, I love food. Except when I need it and my body starts to struggle (which is most of the time, but every 3 months I like to clear out the cobwebs). Thus, trying the 3 day cleanse was perfect for me and my lack of time – and I ended the cleanse on such a high!

I once tried to do the Lemon Detox: it was extremely traumatic… I am not sure how I got out alive. I got through an hour of it and gave in. All I could think about was food. Not to mention that I couldn’t actually drink the lemon and cayenne pepper concoction without gagging and bringing up bile. It wasn’t the greatest cleansing experience. But then I tried Dietlicious 5 Day Cleanse a few years back, and it was honestly amazing. I hold their cleanses in very high regard – and that is why I wanted to chat quickly about the Dietlicious 3 day cleanse – a cleanse for the time poor, and for those whom need a little kick-start in their insides.

– Delicious (the Watermelon, Mint + Acai smoothie and the Mixed Berry with Cacao Smoothie really hit the spot in the mornings)

– Convenient: all meals are premade and easily microwaved in plastic containers

–  Great for the time poor, energy needing gals who don’t have the will power to starve themselves (nobody should really).

– You are not depriving yourself of food – you are actually eating

– Cost is very low when you consider the cost of each meal, snacks and drinks you consume per day ($110 for 3 days and all meals is actually excellent value)

This cleanse definitely opened my palette up to new tastes and foods. Quinoa was something I had heard of, but never had a desire to try, and I am now looking at ways to incorporate it into my meals. You don’t realise how much bad foods become like a drug until you are in an email conversation with your best friends and she is talking you out of ‘using’ again (in this case, eating sugary food).

I will be the first to admit that I am not a glowing model of health. But that doesn’t mean I can’t throw my inside a bone every once in a while. Dietlicious fitted perfectly into my lifestyle, and because it was 3 days, I barely noticed a change in my day in terms of time dedicated to the cleanse. I would highly, highly recommend, to any of my friends and family.

Dietlicious three day cleanse is $110 (excluding delivery)
