What I love most about blogging is the ability to make friends across the globe. Also, to make friends without even having to meet them face-to-face. A few months back, I stumbled across the lovely Porcelain Shree, from Newport (Oregon) and have been following ever since. We have also planned a joint adventure to Hawaii with Miss Beauty.Life.Michelle ha (ahhh, girls can dream)! Shree is just so lovely, has the most gorgeous curls (I have serious hair envy) and has a mighty beautiful blog (I am not too sure if you understand how much I love clean blogs – clutter hurts my eyeballs). I was able to email her a few questions so you could get to know her better, and she answered them below.
1. Three beauty products you would purchase again and again
Benefit Cosmetics Hoola, Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! mascara, NARS Orgasm Blush
2. Pull one thing out of your handbag-what is it?
Hand sanitizer definitely. I have those scattered all around my house and inside my purse so that I always have one nearby!
3. One thing that has made you smile today?
I’m actually going to Canada tomorrow so as odd as it is-packing! 😀
4. (Finish this sentence) I am inspired by…
5. Favorite websites/blogs/can’t stop browsing pages…
Kate Spade. I am constantly on her website making wishlists. Also the English Bulldog instagram hashtag-I have an unhealthy obsession with them.
6. Celebrity Crush
Mark Wahlberg. I have loved him since the Fear days!
7. Secret Talent?
Most people don’t know this but I’m really good at playing the piano by ear.
8. Signature Scent?
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
9. 3 Random Things About You:
– I own a Chihuahua/Greyhound who is completely bald on her underbelly.
– I once spent a year in Korea while my mother was active duty (military) there.
– My Nikon D3100 is my most prized possession
What inspired you to start your blog and where do you hope to take it over the next year?
I started my blog when I was going through a rough time in April 2013. I was desperately looking for something to keep me busy, and that’s when I came a cross all of the popular UK blogs (LlyMlrs, Lily Pebbles, Pearls and Poodles) along with a few American blogs that I just love (Cara Loren, Barefoot Blonde) and decided to have a go at it! In the next year, I would really like myself to just become a better blogger. I like my blog where it’s at now, but I feel that every aspect of it could use improvement, and that’s what I am focusing on now.
What do you love most about blogging?
This is probably such a cliche response, but I just love that it’s my own space. I created everything from the name to the content to the photos. My website designer (Brittany from Life, Set Sail) did my beautiful layout, but I created the whole idea of it. I like that from day to day I get to decide what goes up on it and what I can include. It’s completely mine.
You have some seriously rad curls- any tips to keep them in check?
Haha, thank you! Honestly, there are no rules when it comes to my curls. Sometimes I wash them, sometimes I don’t. There are times when I will completely smother them in product and then go weeks with just a mere wash and no after product at all. That’s one reason that you don’t see very many hair posts on my blog, I never have a routine!
Describe a typical day in your life?
There really is no typical day! Because of the move to Oregon as of late, I have been busy unpacking the house (especially the office!), and working on the blog. Lately, I have been contacting Etsy shops to see if they are interested in collaborating. I write for an online magazine called GlamTwenty as well, so that’s always keeping me busy! Between promoting the magazine, promoting the blog, and writing up new content, it’s very busy! Before I started my own blog, I never knew what bloggers meant when they said that it was like a full time job. But I definitely do now!
Favorite place to visit for the weekend?
I recently just visited Portland for the first time and I completely fell in love. So I would say there. Although…I think you and I have plans to go to Hawaii with another beauty blogger (Michelle from B.L.M.). Can we make that happened in a weekend? Ha-ha.
(hahaha, hells yes! Although, might be a tad hard next year when I move to London ha!)
