I have a rather large penchant for perfectly-proud brows, toned legs and mermaid hair. Sadly, the first two aren’t ever going to be achievable (darn you stumpy legs and John-Howard-rivalling brows), but the later, well, that has just been ticked off my bucket list with my latest adoption – Showpony permanent hair extensions.

I don’t know about you, but I have seen some seriously terrible hair extensions in my time, and was a little nervous about getting extensions put in. But, I need not fear, I was in the overly capable, and seriously divine hands of Jake (from Stevie English, Glebe -highly, highly recommend), who quashed my fears the minute I met him with his witty humour and friendly nature. I just knew we were going to be the best of friends.

Showpony hair extensions are professional grade permanent hair extensions, that are of the highest grade human hair. The skin weft tape extensions are taped in to your hair and have a vast range of colours to choose from. I was so impressed with the colour matching, particularly because Jake ordered the colours via a photo of my hair – and you literally cannot tell the difference. Not to mention, the skin weft is almost undetectable, and blends flawlessly in to my locks.
All up, my locks took around 60 minutes to be transformed. Jake, my hair-maestro, then threw in some bitchin’ Beyonce curls (it would have been rude of me to turn them down). I inevitably walked out of a salon before with a spring in my step, and swoosh in my hair. I literally am thanking the hair gods that Showpony (and Stevie English, and Jake) exist – I think I have found my newest hair nirvana!
Word to the wise – extensions are a commitment. You can’t just get up in the morning and look like you have just stepped out of a Disney movie. They require styling, and for you to sleep in plaits (ala Pippy Longstockings). But, Showpony extensions are seriously rad, and totally transform a look totally outweighing the extra effort.
Have you ever considered getting extensions?

** I was kindly gifted these extensions for blog consideration. This did not, in any way, influence my opinion on the product.
