THE GOOD OILS – PART ONE

It isn’t easy being Oil. They often get a bad wrap for causing breakouts, blocking pores and making life a little tricky, but oh contray! Oils are in fact life-injectors to fragile, poor circluated and glow-lacking skin and add a burst of hydration to even the most Sahara-ed dermises.

Now, let me show you which ones require investments in.

The Jojoba Company Balancing Cleansing Oil
$29.95/ 100ml

This decadent cleansing oil is an indulgent beauty, on a poor man’s budget. You will never come across something as effective as oil at washing away the days impurities and excess oil (without drying the skin out).

Jojoba has been used for decades to help soothe skin irritations, nourish and intensely hydrate the skin. Being a big advocate for natural skincare (where possible), I know a good natural product when I see it: and this product (and brand for that matter), is no exception. Having been a big fan of anti-ageing properties, and all-round multi-tasking abilities of The Jojoba Company 200ml Jojoba Oil, I was determined to try more of the brands products out, and was quietly surprised at just how great the Balancing Cleansing Oil was. Why? To keep it simple, The Jojoba Company Balancing Cleansing Oil is: soothing, hydrating, a miracle-worker at removing tough make up minus the scrubbing usually involved, and is packed full of naturally occurring ingredients that work together to provide you with a cleansing experience unlike any other.
Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost
$39.95/20ml

This facial oil is the essence of life. The elixir of youth. The creme-de-la-creme of anti-ageing oils. Essentially, I have become a tad obsessed with this baby that I picked up in David Jones, one lonely Saturday afternoon.

This decadent facial oil contains a powerhouse of antioxidants of Rosehip, Apricot Seabuckthorn, Camellia and Pomegranate, and reads more like a juice then a luxurious facial Oil. But don’t let that fool you, cause this ‘powerhouse’ of ingredients work its magic on your skin. From, soothing wrinkles, fine lines and boosting moisture levels to a whole new echelon, your skin will feel bright, energised and have a cellular turn over like never before.

Listen up lasses: run (dont walk) to your nearest DJ’s, and scoop up a bottle or two.

Moroccanoil Treatment
$55 / 100ml

We all know of the heralded hair goodness that is Moroccanoil Treatment. It is a winner at creating the a-team of hair. With magical abilities to totally transform ones locks, the blend of powerful ingredients works to improve elasticity,  protect against heat stressors and doubles as a luxurious body oil for those skint on space when travelling.

Moroccanoil Treatment literally saved my strands when I lived in Austria. My hair took the biggest beating of its life during the winter months, and this oil literally breathed new life in to my frazzled, dry and frizzed out locks. I basically had the best head of hair in the town!

Find Moroccanoil Treatment a little heavy? Why not try the ‘lighter’ version?

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
$24.95 / 50 ml at Adore Beauty

Ever wondered why every French Lady has the most supple, delicate, yet divine skin? More than likely, they are friends with Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse and use it religiously. Being a body lotion hoarder that I am, I reguraly try new body lotions and potions: but rarely do I find a product that I want to re-purchase. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse was the exception, having purchased three times since I stumbled across this amaze balls products in 2011, in Paris.

This dry oil is a miracle worker at nourishing, softening, reducing stretch marks and repairing damaged skin. With a cocktail of natural oils, including: Macadamia, Hazelnut, Borage, Sweet Almond, Camellia and St John’s Wort: this preservative free oil is a guaranteed silky skin giver. You too, like the French, will start worshipping at its greatness (I know I have)!

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Oil
$20.95 / 15ml

Hands are one of the first places where we show our age. It is most understandable, being that be scrub our hands dry with detergents, hand soaps and rough surfaces: so it definitely pays to keep a close eye on them, and invest in some industrial strength TLC! The best form of ‘tender, love and care’ I believe, comes in form of The Body Shop Hemp Hand Oil. This luscious oil is like a magician when it comes to transforming dry, coarse hands. When I have had a tough day, I drop on some of this luxurious oil, and feel instantly refreshed, and cannot stop touching my hands.
Hemp is a magic ingredient, The Body Shop has been utilising for years. My whole family are big fans and users of The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector, so it was of no great coincidence that I am now a Hand Oil user (possibly abuser).

** TIP- Use with The Body Shop Almond Nail and Cuticle Oil for hands so enviable.

Dermalogica PreCleanse
$51 / 150ml

This oil is a wonder-drug. For anyone who has slathered on their makeup, only to get home and struggled with actually removing it all: this oiled up baby is your go-to. I was introduced to this goodness giver by a friend a few years back, when I was having a serious love-hate issue with my waterproof mascara. I would have serious ‘shake-wrist’ moments, and end up just going to bed with my make up still on. Enter Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse Oil, and no longer am I cursing the day water-proof make up was invented, but I am now in an intimate relationship with it, all thanks to the mediator: Dermalogica.
With nourishing olive, apricot and kukui nut oils, nothing stands a chance with this super-oil: cutting through oil-based debris and sunscreens like a BAM! commercial.

Do you use any Oils in your beauty routine?
